Dapp for users to make concrete predictions about the future and thus build reputations as reliable and insightful commentators.

Finding / Creating an Dapp where you make predictions about the future and build a reputation based on their accuracy using the Etherum computer

So I’m incredibly new to Etherum, and really want to use the technology itself more. One idea I’ve come across again and again in my speculative fiction (I’m a big fan of the genre, Iain M. Banks, David Brin, Kim Stanly Robinson that style of thing) is a website where users make concrete predictions about the future staking their ‘digital reputation’ on these predictions. This almost replaces / transforms journalism because hacks who write bad copy which speculates or predicts things which aren’t true have no reputation.

Anyhow I like the idea of building an Dapp which allows users to do this. I know some very very basic HTML, SQL, Python, Java and Javascript plus like collaborating using github. I’d like to pick this up as a project either by starting something from scratch or ideally joining an existing project doing something similar or that this would fit in with.

I’m totally new to crypto and etherum however so any pointers in where I could / should get started would be really welcome.
