I started this journey in 2019 and have DCA’d in whenever possible. I have had a couple of big financial hits during that time that came when I had recent gains to see me through. But - I stopped DCAing during those times, which happened during sharp peaks (gained and quickly spent decent profits) so my strategy was decided for me.
This go round has me considering my best approach as to when to cease or slow DCA accumulation and if/when to DCA a bit of profit out (in this for the long haul but certainly like to enjoy a few of the benefits now). I don’t want to defeat averaging, of course. To date I’ve had amazing dumb luck in that regard and haven’t had the option to choose.
I’m considering slowly decreasing the amounts of accumulation during the possible spike periods (based on historical info from previous halvings. Obviously that is unpredictable, but I’m curious as to other’s strategies and how those have panned out in the past.
