Defi won't achieve mainstream adoption in it's current state. Here's why.

The world of crypto to outsider "normies" can seem quite complicated and that's because it is. As someone whose jumped on the ship this year I'll run you through my experience looking to just lob some dosh into Anchor protocol for some nice savings rate.

Step one - Set up a Kucoin account. Because I obviously love scanning my face and sending pics of my passport to sign up for a service.

Step two - Purchase UST. Now in my head here's me thinking "no bother mrcat, just link up your card to buy some UST and off you fuck with your stablecoins". Nope. Have to buy USDT first. Alright alright should be simple enough.

Step two point one - Purchase USDT. Right onto the market to simply hit "buy some Tether" then can move on. Wrong. What in fucks name is spot and what in fucks name is market!? Whatsapp my pal who gives me a description and eventually acquire my USDT. Now I just need to add in the extra fannying around of moving my Tether from my main Kucoin account to my trading Kucoin account (y tho?) and then buy UST with my Tether.

Step three - Get my UST to my Terra wallet which ive had to also sign up for and write down the thirty word jumble recovery phase for. Piss about copying and pasting weird ass long addresses and enter a bunch of passwords and two fac codes to get my UST over.

Step four - probably smoothest part. Little bit of fannying around password wise but lob my UST onto Anchor and finally can get on with my day.

I've missed out several other points of utter confusion. For those well read in the crypto space obviously this is standard and not as bad as some other defi page juggling jollies. But for the everyman who is used to doing a couple of clicks on their online banking for transactions, all the above is an absolute fucking faff.

If we want this space to grow to the big leagues we need to dumb this down.
