Dematerialization of the blockchain

Dematerialization, as in, a physical technology disappearing into ever smaller space, down to the point it’s in a micro-chip.

As things in tech go, we watched ETH move from a large infrastructure and power consumption blockchain to one that uses much less resources.

Is this what every blockchain will eventually do out of necessity?

Maybe blockchain can dematerialize to only need minimal resources that can be managed by a section of a cell phone chip on the smallest amount of power.

We have seen, recording devices, audio players, phones, iPods, Palm Organizers, GPS, building sized computers, cameras, etc into a device the size of our hand.

At some point using less resources could be an important feature of a blockchain bc it means more distribution if the entire chain is safe in a network of cell phone chips for virtually no cost tangible cost to proliferate validators.
