Did any of you here see Ethereum when it launched and thought “yeah this is going to be big”?

All Cryptocurrencies

Sadly, I wasn’t around in crypto when Ethereum launched back in 2015 to see the birth of this behemoth so I personally cannot recall.

The thing that interests me though is that if we start from today where Ethereum sits at the number 2 position all the way back to that year then we can see why it’s gained so much power.

ETH is the basis network for a vast portion of everything crypto. It homes many of the biggest protocols and is a brilliant platform to build on.

But what did it have going for it back in 2015 that made it what it is today? Why did projects start to build on Ethereum? We’re there no alternatives at the time? Was it a pioneer or a visionary in what it offered?

At its core, ETH isn’t a fast network, or a cheap network. They are some of its biggest complaints to this day. It’s like looking at an old crappy car that has terrible mpg and everyone collectively agreeing that with a bit of work it could be a zero emission 0-60 1 second beast.

Did any of you guys see ETH as having amazing potential in its infant period or was it just another coin popping up promising the world that didn’t stand out from the rest?
