Do Not Talk About Crypto with Friends and Family...

I saw a post this past week on the best way to approach friends about crypto and I have some thoughts...

Simple answer, DON'T.

The first reason is being you may be passionate about Cryptocurrency and everything that comes with it but you have to realize, you are in the minority. A small % of the population actually cares about crypto and unless you are very fluent and knowledgeable in the topic, odds are you will sound like your speaking a different language to them.

Next, it's best to leave financial advice out of relationships, it more than likely will not end well.

Let me give some simple life situations in which you might subconsciously blame your friend for stupid shit.

• they gave you bad advice on who to start in fantasy football
• they give you a food recommendation that turns out to suck and now you paid for bad food
• they gave you advice that didn't work trying to get a guy or a girl

These are all stupid examples that create small resentments towards someone. Hopefully you don't hold grudges and you can move on but what if your advice was devastating to them and altered their life? That's financial advice.

Giving someone financial advice that does not work out for them can absolutely ruin friendships and that goes towards traditional financial investments as well. I won't name a stock but by grandpa is really into playing the stock market and does pretty well for himself. He gave his brother advice on a stock that had a bunch of potential, strong backers, and all investment websites and advisors were saying to go for and it failed miserably. Turned out my great uncle invested WAY more than he could afford to lose and was never able to retire because of it. He died never forgiving my grandpa and it weighs heavy on him today.

Let friends and family discover financial investments, specifically highly volatile and risky investments like crypto, for themselves. It simply is not worth the risk.
