Do not trust Ledger, they continue shifting the responsibility for what they did on users and act like making the software open, instead of firmware is what users asked for. Summary of their deceit and condescending attitude.

Why not just address the core of the issue? Users don't want a device that even optionally can send seed online. It's not what they bought. And the way changes are implemented, there's a solid suspicion that such option was available from the start (or to be made available by an update which should never be), making any trust impossible. Why divert attention instead talking about main concerns? It's because they don't give a f**k, they never cared about high quality safe device that meets the users needs and they will continue so.

They should admit making a mistake, instead of saying "we just miscommunicated which caused dumb users to not understand our genius idea". That would be the very start. Then they should announce going full open. If there is at least a tiny module that is not open, then the technology is not open. Making software open doesn't change anything. And no, they have no plans for making firmware open (with exception of the recover feature) and given the current condescending attitude there is no reason to assume they will.

I don't even analyze anymore how dumb they can be to say those things on the Internet where things are transparent and lies easy to detect. It takes one intelligent user to find out hypocrisy. But I guess, arrogance makes them unaware of that simple fact.

And you're gonna like this one: They said they can't assure there won't be forced updates in the future. It's like they said: in the future we will force you to update to a software version that can send your seed online.

I had to dive into their tweets for you, so here is what they said: "Our mission Ledger is to bring the world to crypto, and bring them to the world of self-custody". Great self custody with seed being in the cloud and gov being able to steal your funds. CEO said that the cost of the feature is high because users have impression of safety when security features are costly. Again, it's for the good of users, not to make them money.

I have checked their other media and it's just lies and spreading further confusion. They say that "recovery is the solution that helps with self custody" (I simplified the sentence). That's like the reverse of it.

They're not just business managers, they have super human abilities, as officially they say that their future more than hundred millions customers want recovery feature. Does it change this topic to comedy? I have more. Their headline is:
