Do you have to have a smart phone to make a Binance account?

I keep getting failed on verification. After I place the photos, it asks me to scan with my phone.

My phone will not scan. But I click on the triangle on the right corner and it lets me go on.

The software connects to my computer and takes the camera. But an x is always on the computer screen for the camera. The software asks me to step in front of the camera repeatedly. I do as asked but nothing happens. The scan ends with a fail.

Looking at the reasons it says the photo is no good. I have taken so many photos. Some with white backgrounds. I made sure they were as small as was asked for.

I think I may be missing a step here.

Could someone explain the step of scanning? Is it required to use a cell phone with a scanner?
