I heard that the bitcoin code today is only a fraction similar to the bitcoin that satoshi originally coded.
I think some changes include segwit, taproot, etc. I have no idea wtf these are but I heard these were changes made to bitcoin's code after satoshi left.
Is this what satoshi intended? If not, what makes us all think that there won't be code changed in the future that severely compromises the protocol?
Also, how have the changes already made NOT impact the protocol? Seems to me if the creator can just leave, and the remaining devs whip up some new code, can't that be a concern later?
