There seems to be some discussion around delaying the next hardfork (Shanghai) for a couple of months to be able to include EIP-4844 (Proto-Danksharding).
I'd like to know how the community feels about this.
PRO:
- we get proto-danksharding sooner.
- It's more likely that L2s are able to handle very steep increases of usage during a potential next bullrun\) the earlier they get this on mainnet
CON:
- delaying withdrawals by an unknown amount of time
- more complexity
Not that anybody would care, but I personally would prefer a leaner & quicker next hardfork.
Imo the sooner we get withdrawals the sooner the centralization issues regarding staking (CEX, LIDO etc.) have a realistic chance of resolving themselves. Also It's cleaner to complete what was started and to do small increments, than big bang changes...
So what do you think? Did I forget some arguments on either side?
\)if there ever is one again ;)
