Don’t be the next scam victim

With El Salvador adopting Bitcoin as a currency, there has been increased interest in Bitcoin, and new joiners to this sub.

Here’s what you need to know for starters:

You may receive messages, DM’s, E-mails or phone calls from people you do not know.

You may be offered a once in a lifetime opportunity to invest and make profits on your investment that appear exceptionally appealing.

You may be informed that “you have won 0.32874500 Bitcoin, and be invited to click on a link to find out more

You may then by directed to provide your personal information. Know Your Customer, KYC.

You may be asked to make a deposit/pay a fee, of a smaller amount of Bitcoin in order to withdraw your prize.

Know this: this is a common, well oiled scam. People still fall for it.

Here are some truths: No one, gives away a significant amount of Bitcoin for free. This doesn’t happen.

Be safe out there, keep your wits about you, and if you think you are being scammed, stop, ask the community.
