I have been an investor for around 11 years and I have never had an issue holding companies for many years because I can follow their progress and see them get stronger and increase earnings. Also a lot of the companies I own pay dividends which is nice and comforting.
With Bitcoin I don’t get any of that and therefore it makes it very hard for me to hold on to. Even though I feel like I ‘understand it’ and can see its value it’s hard for me to get a true conviction.
This has led me to become a terrible market timer instead of a long term holder.
I bought Bitcoin for the first time in 2017 when it was around $4500 and later selling at $12.000. Bought in again at $18.000 in 2020/21 and sold after the crash at $40.000. And last time I bought in again at the beginning of 2024 around $35.000.
This might not look too bad but the problem is that I did not increase the invested amount a whole lot with each new purchase. So in 2017 I had a whole coin but right now it’s only a fraction of that.
Anyway that’s enough rambling. I hope this post can be a turning point for me and I will do my best to just hold on from here on :)
Cheers and happy hodling.
