Don’t trust any influencers

TL;DR : Most of videos / posts from November / December were false. A lot of influencers shamelessly scam their viewers or don’t have a neutral opinion while acting like they do.

I know some of you are aware of this already. But a lot of influencers out there are basically scamming their followers shamelessly. I’m actually an influencer myself ( anonymous here ) and the deals are outrageous. First of all you mostly get paid a ridiculous amount compared to other sponsors such as games ( raid shadow legends ) or products ( gaming boosters, HelloFresh or whatever )

As a streamer for example you usually get paid 1$/h per average viewer count to promote. Sometimes more based on the product such as gambling. Crypto? 10$/viewer or more.

YouTube average is around 10-30$ per 1000 clicks for normal sponsors. I’ve had ridiculous meme coins offers with 5-10x that amount. And how are they doing it? By paying you with their crypto which is the ultimate trap.

It’ll create a huge bias for the influencer that will do most likely it’s best making the follower buy and increase the value of the payment.

I live in a country where you have to make it very clear and obvious by law that your content is an ad and biased. But a lot of countries don’t have those laws so influencers can hide it way better. And even if they don’t advertise a specific coin this all can apply to any influencer holding crypto as long as they would profit out of their followers buying.

My biggest fear is that the closer we get to adoption the worse it’ll be. Top celebrities are already scamming their followers with NFTs or similar and it barely gets attention sadly. At the end celebrities and influencers are way more popular then crypto and they can easily hurt crypto reputation by a lot. Those that got scammed will most likely think “all crypto / NFTs are scam”

Most of you ( hopefully ) were already aware of how influencers have biased opinions but maybe some of you were interested into the background. We are very early and the best thing we can do for crypto is to educate those that have no idea and prevent them for falling for those traps.
