When the market pumps, the activity rises like clockwork in the r/CryptoCurrency subreddit. With the pump in attention to crypto also come the scammers trying to prey on the new eyeballs.
In the last 24 hours, i've gotten 5 direct messages from different accounts pumping the same scam NFT project. The message is always identical with every account:
"Hey I saw your comment recently, you seem like you are really into crypto. There is an NFT which Ferrari dropped, price is going to sky rocket supposedly, and I thought I'd tell you, instead of somebody who isn't serious with crypto at all. Hey I saw your comment recently, you seem like you are really into crypto."
It would be in your best interest to just ignore these messages and not take any action suggested in them.
If you want to identify if a message is of malicious intent, look for these red flags: User karma Users account age (if it's recent it's a red flag) Free offerings (cryptocurrencies, NFTs, etc)
