E-Money Tokens and Asset-Backed Tokens according to MiCA

All Cryptocurrencies

by COINS NEWS 134 Views

An interpretative circular was issued in Italy in these days regarding a different taxation of capital gains in respect to the nature of different tokens. In particular, according to the European MiCA legislation, we, apparently, distinguish between the subsequent two types of tokens:

  • E-Money tokens: stablecoins backed by a single currency (e.g. USDT, USDC, etc...)
  • Asset-Backed tokens: tokens backed by more than one currency, or assets as gold, or other cryptocurrencies (e.g. DAI, PAX GOLD)

According to that, it can become quite important in Italy to identify interesting asset-backed tokens as they receive a more favourable fiscal treatment. Can someone furnish more examples of trusted asset-backed tokens available on the market, different than DAI and PAX GOLD?

In particular, I'm interested in tokens that can remain relatively stable during time, without falling in the E-money tokens category. Thank you.
