I saw discussions on how Ethereum may migrate from ECDSA to some quantum proof DSA. Even though such DSA will be less efficient to verify, it will probably not be a deal breaker.
What bothers me is what will happen with BLS sigs the beacon chain heavily utilizes? The beacon chain relies on the "magical" properties of BLS, namely aggregating lots of different signatures to have blazingly fast verification on a set.
This means that moving to a quantum secure solution without such properties may not be realistic...because now the performance penalty may be too exorbitant to endure.
So what's the plan here?
