ETH 2.0 upgrade will be attracting a lot of institutions, this is something that we should we talking about

Now that the merge test run is complete, most experts are expecting a full merger to happen by the end of June; i.e. in a few months. In addition to that, most experts are seeing more institutional investing now that Ethereum is becoming close to completion.

“Moving to proof-of-stake means it's easier for institutions to adopt it since they don't need to defend the energy consumption part of investment argument associated with bitcoin and proof-of-work coins," Ilan Solot, a partner at the Tagus Capital Multi-Strategy Fund, said.

A proof-of-stake consensus removes a lot of useless mining processes from the equation, and makes the mechanism more environmentally-friendly than ever before. The old proof-of-work equation was more energy-intensive and a lot less efficient than the current method, and the one to come promises more efficiency to come. The U.S. electric-car maker Tesla suspended bitcoin payments last year, citing environmental concerns associated with mining.

In addition to that, the merge promises to make Eth deflationary, and a store-of-value asset class. The amount of ETH created is projected to drop by 90%...

Finally, with the promises of adding sharding to the ETH network, it would make the token more sustainable and efficient than ever projected before. At that point, only the gas fee issue would be left to resolve.

Add to that, the emergence of Ethereum into the store-of-value asset class will drive old investors into the new web 3.0 movement revolutionizing the industry. A web consensus fairer than any before, tokens like Helium, Theta, or Aloha DeFi that allows users to make passive income from mobile hotspot sharing will be at the forefront of the new movement as pioneers.

Eth 2.0 will in addition to all of this have a resounding victory over old-school fiat currencies. As institutions are attracted by all this positive decisions, their move towards adoption will make banks struggle and push ever current fiat users into the crypto world, inevitably.

Once the big brands start to move in, then all hell will break loose. I can’t imagine to what number Ethereum could reach, and I think now is prime time to keep a watchful eye.
