Ethereum upgrades we likely see over the next 6-12 months: BC Withdrawals, EIP4844… ‼️

Likely Ethereum protocol upgrades (as being part of the Shanghai hardfork) in order of importance over the course of the next 6-12 months:

• Enabling Beacon Chain withdrawals
• PBS/crLists/shuttered beacon chain related censorship-resistance upgrades
• Proto-danksharding (EIP4844) allowing L2s and base layer additional scalability and much lower fees

Additionally, in about 11 days the first zkEVM L2 (zksync 2.0) will be on mainnet improving L2 adoption and scalability further.

The first testnet of Pre-Shanghai testnet „Shandong“ has also been launched 2 days ago, which will be used as a testbed to experiment with selected Shanghai considered EIPs. The exact timing of the hardfork has not been announced yet.
