Facebook Changing it's Name to "Meta" is like IBM Changing its Name to "Internet" back in the late 80s

It's super annoying that Facebook did this because they are basically trying to make their company synonymous with technological revolution that they had no part in. The Metaverse is the next level of interaction with information. It used to be word of mouth was how you learned, then we had written language, then radio / tv / internet came a long, each one giving us more and more access to information. The next is the Metaverse, which will allow the next leap in interaction with global networks. This is an idea that's been conceptualized since before Facebook, and it's super cringey that Mark think's anyone is going to give him credit for this. It's an act of desperation, and it's likely the last phase of Facebook as a global powerhouse as we know it. So go on Mark, claim this is yours and watch as no-one joins your shitty party.
