Hello guys.
I would like to try to install Bitcoin Core via source code. I don't know if this is the right place for the question. I don't know a better one.
I have to switch back and forth between Linux in a VirtualBox and Windows WSL.
Linux in the VirtualBox works well, but I have now failed several times because with "- - prefix" and "DESTDIR" the error message comes "command not found", although prefix and DESTDIR are very common functions according to everything I have read.
With Windows WSL, it is somehow even worse.
I'm already failing on the "make HOST=x86_64-w64-mingw32".
Since the source code includes a file with configure.ac, I know due to the extension ac that I cannot directly use "./configure, but the procedure is:
$> autoconf $> ./configure $> make $> make install
This also works great with Linux. But with Windows, a error message comes. I installed Gygwin64, but since I can only save it on the main directory and not on WSL, I don't know how to use it. The Cygwin64 terminal accesses C: and not WSL.
Best regards
