Feinstein’s email told me, in a polite way, to screw myself

As a California resident, I was one of those people who emailed my senator about our cryptocurrency legislation concerns.

Got this email in response. It was Feinstein’s polite way to tell me to fuck off.

Thank you for sharing your views about cryptocurrency. I appreciate hearing from you and welcome the opportunity to respond.

Cryptocurrencies pose novel challenges for Congress and U.S. federal agencies, in part because the current U.S. financial regulatory system was not designed with cryptocurrencies in mind. Whereas traditional currencies, such as the U.S. dollar, are overseen by central banks and regulatory agencies with legal obligations to work for the public interest, cryptocurrencies by design lack centralized oversight. Historically, gaps in oversight and regulation of the financial system have contributed to financial instability, consumer protection problems, and increased criminal activity.

Given these concerns, I believe that the federal government has a responsibility to regulate and oversee cryptocurrencies. At the same time, I recognize that Congress and regulators should carefully consider how they oversee these new financial technologies, so as to allow for continued innovation and advancement.

Please know that I appreciate hearing your thoughts regarding cryptocurrency and will keep them in mind as the Senate considers relevant legislation.
