First US GOP primary debate - no crypto mentions, despite anticipation and pro-crypto candidates on stage

The first US debate for the potential 2024 GOP candidates for presidency occurred last night. There was anticipation of a discussion about Bitcoin or crypto, as several pro-crypto candidates who actively endorse Bitcoin are on the docket - including Ron DeSantis, Vivek Ramaswamy, Donald Trump (didn’t attend debate) and Francis Suarez (didn’t attend debate). The debate lasted two hours and covered plenty of topics, but there was no mention of crypto at all.

Let’s hope that the politicians are willing to bring their crypto views before the national eyes going forward, as crypto is going to become an ever larger issue going forward into the 2024 election season, and we need to know politicians’ stance on regulation. I’d also say that we need to know where candidates on either party stand on the potential for bringing forth a CBDC, which is a very unsettling prospect for most of us. The next presidential GOP primary debate is set for 9/27 - if anyone is good at social media outreach to politicians, now’s the time to ask them to talk crypto next month.
