For the "future of finance", Defi platforms in crypto have some pretty weird names. PancakeSwap? IceCreamSwap? But then again older generations probably thought the same thing about companies like "Apple", "Alphabet", "Walmart" etc

There’s no way around it. Defi platforms are named pretty weirdly. I used to be kind of embarrassed about it too. How could I speak well of Crypto with names like Pancakeswap, Spicyswap, Sushiswap etc. And it comes off as pretty unprofessional. But then thinking about it, the older generation would have probably thought the same about our parents generation.

Think about it. Names like:

• Apple - really?
• Microsoft straight up sounds like adult entertainment
• Walmart just kind of sounds dumb
• There no excusing a name like Alphabet
• What even is Foxxconn?

Yet here we are right? There are the top most valuable companies in the world.

Companies used to simply take the name of the owner(s) and/or family. Something like Watson and sons. JP Morgan Chase. McKesson Corporation. It was simple and sweet and…kind of boring actually. I honestly started to like the Apples and the Pancakeswap. MadMeerkat Finance is overdoing it a bit but I’ll take it.
