For those who missed it, here's the story of r/cc's r/place 2023. How our community came together, beat the odds, and we once again became part of r/place history. [NO MOONS]

When r/place launched last Thursday, we scrambled to get organized in the initial first 2 hours.

Cintre and Samsung got us set up. We got the Google doc sheet as quickly as we could, got setup with a discord chat, and got a stickied post.

And the first Moon logo begun:

And then we finally got a logo and some letters:

We got obliterated and rebuilt a few times, until we found the right location:

And grew into this:

Moon, R/cc, Snake, rocket, and Moon heart.

We went to war with a Twitch streamer over a second location for a giant r/cc logo. Around 30 of us versus around 200 of them. She wasn't ready for our fight. She got mad, raged quit, even ended up deleting the stream, and we won.

But we ended up going back to this location as our secondary location. The big r/cc logo failed, but we succeeded in doing this instead:

We managed to get two moons, two locations, and then this happened:

We got completely erased in a matter of minutes by bots. It looked hopeless. But our community came together and rebuilt the moon logo, letters, and snake, just in time before the end. And when the palette went black and white, we got this new design:

Luckily the secondary location was untouched. It was a big success. Both our locations are in the final canvas. We got great artwork. We beat bots, alt accounts, and twitch streamers to get there.
