I humbly consider myself somewhat of a wallet expert, I’ve been really excited by foundation devices.
Coldcard is a popular recommendation because of the ultra security focus but generally in computer security the more secure something is the less easy to use, I find coldcard is a good example of this.
There was a little controversy when foundation got started because they built passport on the open source code of coldcard which angered a few people. However I think this is to be expected with open source products and gives more peace of mind that Foundation isn’t starting from scratch and is using advancements created by the community.
Foundations goal appears to be retain the air-gapped security of coldcard while pushing forward an easier user experience. The only downsides I can see is the company is fairly young only a couple years, and the passport is a little expensive but imho that’s to be expected with a new company and it’s manufactured in the united states.
Personally I’m excited for mine to ship, using it with keystone or even a coldcard is great for a multisig vault and all three can be used air gapped with something like BlueWallet on your phone.
