Free withdrawals on Kraken?

Bitcoin Reddit

More / Bitcoin Reddit 88 Views

I use both Strike and Kraken to buy Bitcoin. Recently I realized I could transfer from Kraken to Strike using the lightning network for free, then from Strike into cold storage using the free on-chain option.

I know the Kraken on-chain withdrawal fee isn’t very much, currently less than $2 at today’s BTC price, but I’m only buying small amounts so the fee ends up being a relatively high percentage of the amount I withdrawal. Since I need to withdrawal from both Kraken and Strike anyway, it seems to make sense to add this extra step to avoid a fee. Is there any reason to not do this?
