I know most of this comes from people hating the idea of Friend tech which I might even agree with but reporting false information doesn't help bring new people into the crypto space. There are more than enough actual data breaches and hacks that you don't need to make up stories about peoples public addresses being leaked. I'm not promoting Friend tech or telling you to use them but at least read up on the thing you are complaining about. here is the post that was made earlier, if you would like to read the comments. Leaked database of 101,000 friend.tech users links their ETH addresses - reported by The Block most people probably didn't even bother to read the article let alone actually look up what they are complaining about. The Friend tech app is linked to your twitter profile and has a wallet created when you sign up, this is public information since you are purchasing shares of people who you probably follow on twitter already. When you purchase a share on Friend tech app you can click on the profile and it takes you to their twitter account. The persons who created the account also gets 5% of every sell of their shares to their wallet on friend tech, so if you look at the transactions you can find the wallet. not sure how this is being reported as a data breach when it's all public already. the wallet addresses and transactions are on the blockchain, the twitter account is linked to the wallet on the app publicly for everybody to see. Friend tech twitter account had a great response to the article. you can read the tweet here if you would like [link] [comments] |
