FTX Now Allows You To Send Crypto To Emails Or Phone Numbers, With A Catch. Also Receive Crypto And Fiat With An FTX User Tag

FTX has implemented a new feature to allow users to send crypto to a email address or phone number. They have issued the annoucement on their Telegram as well as SBF tweeting about the feature although I can't say if and how accessible it is by region yet. These is however a catch. I think many of you would realise that it requires you to create an FTX account to actually access the crypto. I think we all expected as much. This very much reminds me of FTX and SBF agreeing to buy Voyager with Voyagers users offered reimbursement, again with a catch. Users are reimbursed in fiat or crypto, but the crypto option is only available if those Voyager users decide to sign up with FTX.

FTX is also in the process of rolling out a feature that allows FTX users to receive crypto and fiat through simply an associated FTX user tag. This seems to be superseding the more cumbersome way of having a deposit address for every network or token. It seems to work similar to the Ethereum Name Service(ENS) by simplifying addresses except it supposedly works across many networks as well as with fiat.
