New Reddit avatars are displayed in Reddit shop & can be bought with fiat directly. These sell out quickly & have to be purchased on the secondary market on Opensea after that. A guide that could come in handy when Gen 3 avatars are out:
Step 1: Download Metamask & add Polygon as a network. Network details:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.com
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://polygonscan.com/
Step 2: Get WETH on Polygon. The easiest way to get WETH: Buy Matic on an exchange --> transfer it to your wallet --> swap to WETH. This is way cheaper than using any bridge. Make sure to select the correct network [=Polygon] while transferring Matic from the exchange. Keep some Matic in your Metamask wallet to cover gas.
Step 3: Add the avatar to your cart, link your wallet to Opensea & complete your purchase!
