Has anyone had a positive experience mentioning crypto to IRL friends/family?

So I've tried a couple of times to mention crypto to people in real life, I've usually asked the smarter friends or coworkers I know first.

Even people who seem pretty tech savvy, like engineers or people with high level degrees tend to know literally nothing about it other than the most basic knowledge it exists.

I just feel like I might be crazy trying to get people outside of this echo chamber hyped up about it, but I feel like maybe we all should be trying to bring it up to others. The more people who hear about it, through multiple sources, it might push a slightly faster adoption.

Has anyone out there found people in the wild who do crypto or have you gotten someone started and they actually did some research and learned about crypto/made some money?
