I’ve read the white paper, I’m sure there’s a simple answer for this. But let’s say the hash rate gets adjusted for a new ATH difficulty today, and then 90% of miners get shut down tomorrow because of nuclear war or Biden falling down some stairs. We would be 2016 blocks away from the next difficulty adjustment and they’re all going to take a lot longer than 10 minutes to mine. How will those 10% of surviving miners even be able to produce enough hash power to make it to the next difficulty adjustment?
