Help, Im trying to get into a wallet I created in 2017.

So I got into ethereum in 2017. Long story short it was created in MIST and after 8+ hours of putting the rigs together I backed up the keystore. I do have the keystore file but don't remember the password I used. Im trying to access it using MEW and using the keystore file I have and entering a long list of possible passwords. Clearly this is a longshot but has anyone had any luck accessing their lost wallet with any guides or tips? Also I was wondering if Im going through the right channels. Any tips or guidance is greatly appreciated.
