I am writing a short story that takes place in the near future. The story takes place on a space station, perhaps 20-30 years in the future, and I want to incorporate a potential future use for blockchain technology.

I am specifically looking for comments and ideas that might expand on the premise I’m developing (all around blockchain tech), something that would beef up the story, add meat to the bones.
What I’m asking for is for some ideas and insights; some help to make this all sound technologically plausible. My knowledge of the crypto environment is above average, but totally insufficient to the task of fleshing out details and alternatives.
So if you know something (or a lot!) about blockchain and crypto, would you mind taking a look? Remember that this is speculative fiction, so we're making some stuff up. I just want it to be plausible.
