help with access to wallet.dat

hi everyone, just wondering is there anywhere i can download the blockchain without using bitcoin core? reason being i was syning for days, and on the last stretch something happened and bitcoin core deleted the whole blockchain data itself, so nearly a week of syncing gone, does anywhere host the acutal block chain, im aware its 600gig or so, downloading is not the problem and i have a fast internet connection,question 2 is, can i use my wallet.dat file in any other program, to enable access to the bitcoin in the wallet? I found a old wallet I had with a small amount of bitcoin that I want to take out.thanks
