Helping out newbies: Let's make a list of "big crypto influencers" that are best avoided/blocked

All Cryptocurrencies

I love crypto and believe crypto has a bright future, but one of the worst aspects of crypto is that it is incredibly difficult to distinguish reliable sources from people who will do their best to scam you and take your hard-earned money. This is particularly a major problem for newer people who search for information because they need to "do their own research". In the long term, I believe the only proper solution will be proper regulation, but for now, perhaps we can make an effort to help out newer users in this space by making a list of the key social media figures to avoid. For convience, let us focus on Twitter, because that is the largest space, but many of these individuals also have YouTube accounts that should be avoided.

What would get a person on this list? Most of them do undisclosed shills where they get paid to convince their followers to buy a shitty project - in many cases this is combined dumping tokens on followers during the subsequent pump. Others entice newer players to lose a lot of money on leverage trading. Some of them hype up newer projects all the time ("the next 100x!) that always rug for engagement. There are also those who just indefinitely bull or bear post to try to get engagement; they often set totally unreasonable targets like Shib to $1. In general, they are just out to either make money directly (e.g. you buy their bags) or indirectly (e.g. they grow their account so they can make more money in a direct way later).

The list I made using various sources:

  • Bitboy_Crypto
  • TheMoonCarl
  • Crypto_Banter
  • IvanOnTech
  • Crypto_Birb
  • Thecryptolark
  • Elliotrades
  • MMCrypto
  • LadyofCrypto1
  • PlanB
  • Thecryptomist
  • Astrones2
  • AltcoinGordon
  • Crypto_Scofield
  • TonymontanaATH
  • CryptoTony__
  • JRNYcrypto
  • CryptoMichNL
  • Scottmelker
  • CryptoWizardd

Please do not let what these people say influence your financial decisions in any way. Also, I am sure I missed a few because there are a lot of scammers out there. Any worthy additions?

For reference, I would urge anyone to follow ZachXBT on Twitter because he is doing a great job exposing many of these people and a significant proportion of the information here flows from his valuable work.

Ps. I hope we can steer away from the "just do not follow anyone on Twitter or YouTube" circlejerk and focus on making a good list of who to avoid. There is good information out there if one avoids shitty figures in this space.
