Hodl… forever?

I hear many people saying they’ll never part ways with the btc/sats they’ve collected. Just like fiat, you can’t spend it when you’re dead. So what is the purpose of trading in your fiat for btc if you have no intention of using it? Are you trying to build generational wealth for relatives? If so, will they know how to access your stash? I myself am saving btc as an investment to purchase land. Whether I trade the btc directly or sell it for fiat to purchase the land, that is the end game for me. Land seems to continuously go up in value, there is a limited supply of it, and if the sea reclaims more of it, it is deflationary like btc.
