HODL Moons for Governance

One aspect about HODLing moons that I barely see anyone talking about is voting in governance polls.

For those that don’t know, after every moon snapshot we generally have a few governance polls on r/CryptoCurrency. These allow us to vote on the future of moons, the subreddit, and the rules surrounding them.

However, only your “earned” moons contribute to this. So for example, if you have 5,000 moons but you only earned 1,000 (through regular commenting/posting) and acquired the other 4,000 through other means, then you will only “contribute” 1,000 moons towards your poll choice.

So if you want to have a say in the future of moons, don’t get rid of them. If you get rid of them with the intention of getting the same amount back in the future, they won’t contribute to governance polls. Therefore, you should HODL your moons for the right to vote!
