Honest to god question: what percentage of a white paper do you actually understand?

Honest to god question about whitepapers? What percentage do you guys understand?

Basically everything in the title. I see people saying you should read a project’s whitepaper, if they are not a scam or pump and dump, in other words bringing new ideas/concepts, they are usually heavy on math. I have done my fair share of studying math though I can’t pretend I’m understanding everything, thus I kinda need to trust the authors not BSing. One specific WP that comes to my mind is the Ava Labs consensus one. I kinda get the general idea but that’s some heavy math out there. What are your thoughts about dissecting a WP?
