Ok, so I don't really know what is going on right now but I have either misunderstood something or have a genuine brain fart moment lol
I am currently researching bitcoin and know that the network is trying to balance the creation time of blocks to around 10 minutes by increasing the difficulty depending on the hashrate - so far so good.
Now, I was interested in the average time it takes to find a block and see what the longest and shortest time was on https://www.blockchain.com/explorer/charts/avg-confirmation-time
Now, on the 5th of october 2023 it says that the average block time was a whopping 12.404,535 minutes, which translates into 206 hours or 8,6 days -> wtf??
How can it be that the average transaction time of a day is 8 days???
EDIT: Seems like the chart shows that number for the 5th of october when you change it to "all time" but shows a similar number when you change it to 3 or 6 months. Then it is 25.809 minutes for the first of october 2023...
A different site confirms the 25.809 minutes for the first of october 2023 as well...
