Not trying to spread FUD or anything but as a developer in the space, I just oscillate between being inspired with how the crypto space is growing to being completely doubtful that any of these grandiose ideas will make any really impact. I get the arguments for and against crypto and I just don’t foresee how we’d get mainstream adoption with the crap UX, fear of being hacked/socially engineered, and constant rug pulls.
It’s okay to say “be your own bank”, but that’s goes directly against widespread adoption since realistically the average person can’t be that.
I’m just contemplating all this as I’m going through a self-directed compilation of blockchain resources I’ve collected (to get better at my current job), but I’m also just asking myself if it’s worth investing any more time being in crypto.
