How do you get over ignorance and judgment, especially from those close to you?

I was at a dinner tonight (my birthday dinner actually lol) and the topic of financial content came up. I was asked what I’ve been watching and of course I mentioned Bitcoin. One of my friends, who has been one of my best friends for the past 15 years, was ready to debate. Immediate “oooh, yikes, so you’ve been drinking the Kool Aid” (verbatim). I didn’t want to make others feel awkward but I did mention a few key points to argue the case. I mentioned I would step out for a smoke if he wanted to come and we could continue the conversation. Everyone saw me standing up and putting on my coat and we all ended up leaving.

Now I can’t shake this feeling of, “Damn, I can’t wait to prove him wrong.” But I also want to just be like “you do you, I’ll do me, and we’ll see”. For anyone that has experienced judgment from people that are close to you, ignorant to Bitcoin, but unwilling to learn or be open to new concepts, how do you let it go? Or do you still try to orange pill because you want them to realize the opportunity in front of us? I fully recognize that part of this is a me problem, a wanting to be right problem, and ego. But I want them to see the error of their ways.
