I woke up to a text from my Uncle this morning. Haven't spoken to him in a few months, cool guy and super nice. Never knew him as the investing type but here is how the conversation went:
Him: "Buy SHIB. That is your early bday present :)"
Me: "Lol no thanks on that"
Him: "I told you for a reason. Do anything. You'll be happy"
Me: "Already in it way before the SHIB mania happened"
Him: Then you should've held. I got in late. We'll talk more later since I know you're into it now"
Me: "Eh, you never know. Could see price movement later down the road, just dependent on some factors. But lol, I do my best to no longer talk crypto."
Him: "Whatever that means. Let's talk soon !"
So, I know there parts I fucked up in there, but he texted me so damn early that my brain wasn't functioning and caught by surprise when I saw him say "SHIB." I do my hardest to no longer talk about crypto, that I hold crypto and that I understand crypto. I just tell them I do not invest. But do I tell my uncle how much of a shit coin it is and actually try to educate him? Or do I let him begin to tell the rest of my family and see them lose money on a shit coin that can be invested in actual quality projects?
I just don't get how you don't talk about crypto when you see family members begin to get into it and invest in shit projects like this? Do I educate them and just not talk about my holdings or how much I have in them?
