People often say that multisig is more secure than having a single wallet / seed phrase backed up somewhere in your own custody, because with mutlisig, there is no single point of failure.
My question is, if an attacker breaks in to your home, threatens you with a $5 wrench, and demands your seed phrase, how does mutli sig help in this situation?
When you tell him 'Im sorry, I can't give you my Bitcoin because it requires a 2nd or 3rd signature by a remote party', whether or not this is true, why would he believe you?And why wouldn't he proceed to break your legs anyway, in the hope that you become more cooperative?
In either case, it seems that it isn't mutisig that is protecting your funds in this type of scenario, it's your willingness to stand up to the attacker, and tell him, for whatever reason, he cannot have your funds.
Am I wrong?
