Context
I am Data Scientist on a Growth Marketing team for a small startup. One of our highest converting channels is upselling existing users via email. I've heard many folks in this space ("web3") advocating for the transition of Email\MFA-based to Wallet-based authentication.
I get it. It simplifies the trivial frictions for end-users with Email\MFA-based authentication and lets them control how they connect. However, it is a big issue for startups like us. If we switched to Wallet-based authentication or offered both, we would lose one of our primary communication channels, "email." As a result, we would then need to collect the email address also. Asking for both seems tacky, and I see many users opting out simply because we asked. In this circumstance, why would we ever switch to Wallet-based auth?
Aside from email marketing, I can think of several other circumstances that adversely affect the operations of Web2 companies. Consider Amazon; they wouldn't be able to notify customers about deliveries or provide specific support "over email." Or Facebook with unauthorized or unusual logins.
Many web3 projects rely on Discord or Reddit to build communities with users, but these don't seem ideal in this circumstance. I have also seen this subreddit spammed with folks promoting simple chat apps using IPFS or some derivative of that idea. Kinda seem like these break the "No product promotion" rule. But whatever, these do not work either.

Questions
Don't get me wrong, I want to help our customers and love web3. I just am trying to understand its feasibility for us. After some research, the only web3 services that are super close are 3Mail, XMTP, or Notifi.
- Are these three the only options?
- What do web3 engineers use in place of email to do "email-like" marketing\messaging?
- Any significant pros/cons from engineers who have gone the Discord route?
- Do I think about this completely wrong? Totally valid option.
