How to Cash Out Your Moons (Selling MOONs Simply Explained for N00bs)

In the recent few days, I got spammed with notifications "!gas nova" and people saying that the faucet didn't work for them. First of all, it only works on r/CryptoCurrencyMoons, but indeed, the faucet is now empty.

Thus I'm providing a step-by-step tutorial on getting some ETH to cover gas fees on Arbitrum Nova so that you can trade our beloved $MOON.

You don't have to repeat the steps that you've already done, so start at the number you don't recognize!

1. Get your seed phrase from your vault

Your Moons are in your Reddit vault (crypto wallet provided by Reddit). You control this wallet via a seed phrase, which is a sequence of 12 words.

You can get it from here: Profile -> Vault -> Settings -> Recovery Phrase

Never share this with anyone, ever! If a scammer has it, they can get everything from your wallet.

2. Install MetaMask

Install MetaMask from https://metamask.io/download/.

Click "Import Wallet" (not "create new wallet") and paste your seed phrase from step 1 there.

Now you control your Reddit vault address through a MetaMask wallet.

3. Deposit ETH to Your MetaMask Wallet

Go to your favorite exchange and buy some ETH. I'd say $10-20 is sufficient - don't go too low (i.e. $1) as it will be eaten by gas fees during withdrawals etc.

After you bought ETH, withdraw it to your MetaMask wallet.

If you have the option to withdraw to Arbitrum One, prefer that over Ethereum mainnet, as the next step will be cheaper. Not mandatory, but will save you a few bucks.

4. Bridge your ETH to Arbitrum Nova

The Moons are on the Arbitrum Nova network (FYI This is different from Arbitrum One).

In this step, you'll bridge your ETH to Arbitrum Nova to be used as gas.

Go to https://www.orbiter.finance/ and do the following:

1. Select the network where your ETH is as the network you're bridging from
2. Select Arbitrum Nova for the network you're bridging to.
3. Click Send.

At the end of this step, you will have ETH on Arbitrum Nova, ready to be used as gas.

5. Trade on Arbitrum Nova

You're all set!

Now you have sufficient ETH to cover gas fees without using the "!gas nova" faucet.
