So I acted too quickly on a phishing link posing as a real protocol , connected my MetaMask browser wallet, accepted a contract and had the entire wallet drained (0.3 ETH)on the Arbitrum network. Thankfully I didn't lose any more, but I still feel shame / guilt for not being more weary and just carelessly losing $600+ to a single click. Literally the worst feeling.
Anybody else felt this before? How can I be more proactive in avoiding this sort of situation? In my 3 years navigating the Ethereum ecosystem this has never happened. I guess I grew too confident.. Will MetaMask ever show / warn a fake smart contract written up to drain someoneβs wallet? It happened too quick I forgot what it said when I accepted.
Thanks.
