If it adjusts every couple of weeks to keep blocks mined every 10 minutes, how was it initially calibrated to achieve that? Does anyone know? Did satoshi do the math on how fast his computer would mine and then hardcode the corresponding starting difficulty value into bitcoin? Did blocks get mined around every 10 minutes for the first two weeks?
