![]() | I know what you're thinking. "Anti-hopium in this sub? Is this guy suicidal?" Well maybe I am, but that's a story for another day. Before you ask, no. I am still onboard the hopium train for BTC and ETH for an price explosion sometime soon after the halving. What I am trying to talk about today is our favourite Reddit Community Points, MOONs. Earlier today, there was a post that came out discussing MOONs and it's use-cases. He's right about the fact that Moons will require many more use cases so that this project doesn't end up as a speculative bubble. That's true with every other coin out there. However, the premise of the post was to find new use cases for MOONs so that the price of MOONs will be pumped and people will continue to use MOONs as something other than what it was meant for, a governance token for this sub r/CryptoCurrency. Sure, plenty of coins have evolved beyond their intended use case. But bear in mind that Reddit is the owner of this project and they can do whatever they wished, incl. shutting this project down if it ever encroaches on breaking any laws (present or future). If that happens, you're just an owner of some rando tokens from a bygone era on Reddit. Waitlist for subreddits to apply for Community Points. This brings me to my next point. We have no idea what Reddit plans to do with Community Points. But, the best idea we have is that Community Points become a way to reward contributors for posting quality content. However, it is my belief that MOONs will not be the RCP. This waitlist (website put up in 2020) from Reddit shows the intent to allow any subreddits to apply and have their own brand of RCP. There would be no incentive for any other subreddits to use/own MOONs. Also, it would take a significant amount of commitment for any professional devs to sink time into this project when it could be made obsolete by Reddit or if the immense number of RCPs eventually turn people off towards MOONs. In the same post, there were many people comparing MOONs to other memecoins like SHIB and PEPE and calculated the price of MOONs if we ever reached their marketcap. If our end goal for MOONs is to reach SHIB's or PEPE's marketcap, then there is only one way to achieve it. Nope, it's not hiring a bunch of devs to work on the project. What we need is a bunch of hype men. More specifically, we would require a brigade of social media hype men who have a massive following and shilled the coin to their followers. As the price gets pumped, we OG people will sell our bags and leave the others holding our bags. That's it for today. I hope I injected some anti-hopium into your veins and woke you up a little from the hopium daze. Obviously, I am human and I wish every day that MOONs can go to $100 so I can stop being in the rat race. But, the last bull run taught me to manage my expectations and look at bigger pictures. TLDR; MOONs can have more use cases, but it's unlikely it would be widely used on Reddit. Best way to pump MOONs price is social media hype. [link] [comments] |
