I analyzed r/CryptoCurrency’s opinion on the most discussed crypto influencers in this sub, here’s what I found

Hey everyone! I've been diving into all sorts of crypto content on social media/yt lately, and I've noticed a lot of chatter here about different crypto influencers as well, but it's all over the place. Since I'm interested in data analysis, I thought it'd be cool to make something out of it. I've gathered the latest 100 comments from r/CryptoCurrency about top crypto influencers using PullPush API, then crunched the numbers with ChatGPT to turn them into easy-to-understand star ratings out of 5. This gives us a neat snapshot of what that sub thinks about these various crypto influencers.

If you find this data interesting, let me know - hoping this can add value to the community. By no means this is perfect, it was more of a bootstrap project that came out of interest and I realize there’s space for lots of improvements, so if there’s any interest, I’m thinking of conducting a larger-scale & better-quality project for public benefit :) Also if there’s any specific account you want analyzed, feel free to let me know - or if you have any other feedback!

Some interesting findings

• Of course, the usual suspects like Logan Paul, Bitboy Crypto, and Matt Wallace ranked as the lowest rated crypto influencers, all averaging below 2.0 rating.
• The top three rated crypto influencers were tier10k (db), zachxbt, Son of a tech, who all serve a specific knowledge niche (news, scam investigation, and mining) which makes sense – they objectively provide value to all their viewers with little to no harm done.
• Inverse relationship between average rating and standard deviation of the rating, where most crypto influencers that have average rating belonging to top 25 percentile have standard deviation belonging to lowest 25 percentile, suggesting that the top-rated crypto influencers are gaining consistently high ratings across the board
  • Logan Paul is the only one which has lowest standard deviation in rating, but also ranks the lowest… goes to show how much people hate him ????

How did I do this?

I manually chose 28 crypto influencers which I saw being discussed frequently, and pulled the most recent 100 comments about the said crypto influencer in r/Cryptocurrency (credits to PullPush API!). I then passed the comments to ChatGPT with a prompt requesting to estimate a star-rating of the said crypto influencer in the commenter’s perspective (exact prompt stored on the raw sheet). I then analyzed the relevant statistics of these star ratings.
