I asked my local corner store owner asked why he doesn't accept Cryptocurrency and here's his answer.

So I am friends with a kid and his father who both run my local corner store. I have grown up with them and we talk about all kinds of things including Cryptocurrency.

To condense this story quickly, both me and his teenage son are trying to convince the old man to accept Crypto as an option. His main pushback is that not many people ask for it therefore, he doesn't see the the point of accepting and setting up a Cryptocurrency payment system. He however does like the idea and is intrigued. His main push back before this was the volatility of Crypto but I successfully changed his mind by illustrating the devaluation of the dollar and other major traditional currencies.

The reason why I am doing this in the first place is that we all talk about adoption and Cryptocurrency overtaking major Fiat currencies but this will never happen if local businesses do not accept them.

There is no point talking about Ethereum's merge or complex DeFi protocols If we can't even use use Bitcoin to pay for chewing gum. In my opinion, getting local businesses to at least have Crypto as a form of payment is an excellent way to rapidly onboard an entire community.

So I am going to need you guys to help me out with this. Next time you are buying a drink or a snack from your local store, just ask them "Do you accept Cryptocurrency" as your paying for your stuff. More likely the answer will be "no" but after you leave, they will surely think about it. If enough of us do this, we are force to reckon with.
